Can your BVN affect your NYSC allowance?
Yes. In order to receive payment for your allowance, your account must be fully supported with your BVN. That means that the name in which you used for your NYSC registration should be the same or should correspond with the name on your BVN.
As a corp member in NYSC camp, you are expected to open a bank account with any available bank in camp that you don’t have an account with before. Preferred bank, Polaris.
You must also be able to memorize or write down your BVN and bring it with you to camp. If your BVN name differs from your NYSC name, you may face difficulties receiving allowance or even opening an NYSC allowance account.
It is best that you:
1. Before heading to camp, ensure you have a bank account fully supported with your BVN (Bank Verification Number). If you don’t have one, make sure you visit the bank to open an account and obtain a BVN.

2. If your BVN name differs from your NYSC name, visit the bank where you registered for BVN and provide a court affidavit stating the discrepancy. Additionally, bring along a government-issued ID card (Voter’s card or National ID card) to facilitate the correction process. Make sure the names corresponds accurately in the provided documentation.
